Our April Goal

This time of the year is a transition time for mother nature. She is nurturing the ground by providing rain, she is caring for the blossoms by raising the temperature and she is planting seeds of love and joy in our hearts by coloring the world with flowers. We can all agree that this time of the year is beautiful, not only because of the colors and fragrances, but because of the reminder of new life all around us.

As we are reminded of the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ, we can reflect on His words and His works as we are serving His children. Meaningful friendships blossom as we take time to reach out to the one, not just to help, but to befriend. We should be as excited as a little child when making new and everlasting friendships. Reaching out means nurturing and loving the seeds of friendship we plant, so they grow into eternal bonds of sisterhood.

Some of the greatest and lasting friendships we have come through faithful and diligent visiting teaching. The companion you are assigned now could be a companion you treasure forever. The sisters you teach can take an important place in your life as you take time to ask questions, take time to support, and take time to remember how special they are to your Heavenly Father.

Our Savior, Jesus Christ was sent to the earth to do the will of His Father. Likewise, we are sent to do the will of our Father. "Our own will should be swallowed up in the will of the Father's," said Elder Christofferson. The only way we can know the Father's will is by doing what we have seen done by Christ. Start by visiting your sisters; as you come to know them, you will be able to nurture them through love and before you know it, a friendship will blossom. We as a presidency encourage you to instill a sincere friendship and attitude of nurturing in  your relationship with those God has given you to care for.
